A few helpful answers.
The essentials about HealthBridge, our guides and your next coverage conversation.
What is HealthBridge?
HealthBridge is an independent website that explains health insurance in plain language. Our guides help you prepare questions and understand official documents. We are not a government agency or an insurance carrier.
Does this website enroll me in insurance?
No. Reading a guide or sending a contact message does not enroll you in coverage, start an insurance policy or confirm eligibility for a benefit.
Is a health insurance subsidy a cash payment?
Marketplace premium tax credits generally reduce the premium paid for qualifying coverage. An advertisement about a dollar amount does not establish that you will receive cash. See our premium-tax-credit guide for official sources.
What is the difference between personal and household income?
Personal income describes one person’s earnings. An official Marketplace application generally considers expected household income for the coverage year. Household and tax circumstances matter, so confirm which income information an application requires.
Can I compare plans using the monthly price alone?
A monthly premium is one part of the picture. Look at deductibles, costs when you receive care, covered services and provider networks before choosing. Our total-cost guide includes a practical comparison checklist.
Are Bronze, Silver and Gold quality ratings?
No. Marketplace metal categories describe a general approach to sharing covered costs. They do not rank the quality of the care you receive. Specific plan documents still matter.
How do I know if my doctor is included?
Check the insurer’s current provider directory and confirm with the doctor’s office. Ask about the exact plan and network, since an insurer can offer more than one network.
Will all my prescriptions be covered?
Prescription coverage varies. Review the plan’s formulary and rules for the exact drug, dose and form you use. A medication being covered does not by itself tell you the cost.
When can I enroll?
Enrollment windows depend on the coverage type and your circumstances. Check current official dates rather than relying on an old advertisement. Certain life changes may open a Special Enrollment Period.
What if I already have Medicaid or Medicare?
These programs have their own rules and official resources. Do not cancel existing coverage based on a marketing questionnaire. HealthCare.gov, Medicare.gov and your state Medicaid agency can explain how existing coverage affects other options.
Where do your articles get their information?
Every guide includes links to official source pages. We prioritize primary sources and practical explanations. If you spot an outdated statement, please send the article link through our contact page.
Do you provide medical, legal or tax advice?
No. Our content is general education. A qualified professional can assess your personal health, legal or tax situation.
How do I contact you?
Use our contact form or email support@getbridge.us. Do not send medical records, Social Security numbers, payment-card details or passwords.
Can I request that my contact message be deleted?
Yes. Send a privacy request to support@getbridge.us and include enough information to identify the message. We may ask for reasonable verification before disclosing or deleting personal information.
